Don Bergman joined Buckland & Taylor Ltd. in 1981 and became one of the Vice Presidents of the Company in September 2001.
During his 24 years as a bridge engineer, he has led many of Buckland & Taylor Ltd.'s cable-stayed design and construction engineering projects.
Among his 11 cable-stayed design projects, he includes Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong, Cooper River Bridge in the US, Ching Chau Min Jiang Bridge in China, Alex Fraser Bridge in Canada and Rama 8 Bridge Bridge in Thailand.
He was cited by Engineering News Record for the construction engineering for the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Cable-stayed Bridge in Savannah, Georgia. His construction engineering projects include the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina, the US Grant Bridge in Portsmouth, Ohio and six other cable-stayed bridges.
He led the design of the seismic retrofit of the Arroyo Quemado arch bridge in California. This project won both Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC) and American Consulting Engineers Council (ACEC) Awards.
