Buckland & Taylor is pleased to announce expansion of its office network to include operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Halifax office is Buckland & Taylor's third branch office, in addition to Edmonton, AB and Seattle, WA.
The Halifax office will service Buckland & Taylor's ongoing work in the Maritimes including the design of the rehabilitation of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge, and will enable Buckland & Taylor to add additional talent to our experienced team.
The deck replacement of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be similar to the Lions’ Gate Bridge deck replacement, which was the world’s first replacement of the suspended structure of a suspension bridge while traffic continued to use the bridge. Buckland & Taylor was the Owner’s Engineer for the Lions’ Gate Bridge deck replacement project.
The Halifax office will be led by Halifax Engineering Manager Eileen McEwen, P.Eng. Though Eileen has been with Buckland & Taylor in North Vancouver for five years, she is originally from Halifax and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Eileen’s engineering and construction management experience, coupled with her ability to work effectively with clients makes her a perfect fit for this position.
“As we begin work on the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge, we look forward to growing our local presence; not only for the duration of this project but for the long term working on local and regional projects with Maritime owners, contractors and the local community, " says Eileen.
