Inspection of bridges takes careful analysis and a keen understanding of bridge dynamics. Buckland & Taylor Ltd. follows a proven method for accurate inspections.

The detailed inspection of bridge components are geared to the level of effort necessary to provide a detailed assessment of the condition of each element, including the type and size of each element, the level of deterioration observed and any significant changes since the last documented inspection.

B&T takes great pride in their site inspections; each project consists of at least two engineers experienced in bridge inspection. Bridge inspections are most effective with two engineers, with at least one of them senior. Two sets of eyes and senior level of experience are invaluable in identifying underlying causes of observed symptoms and issues that may affect the load carrying capacity or long term durability of structural components.

A general site inspection involves looking at:

  • General geometry;
  • General and Visual Moving Parts;
  • Timber;
  • Concrete;
  • Steel; and
  • Recording.
