BAMBAN BRIDGE
Location:Mount Pinatubo, Bamban, Tarlac, Philippines Description:His Excellency President Fidel V. Ramos opened this tied arch (Nielsen-Lohse basket handle type system) bridge to traffic on June 1998, 20 days ahead of scheduled contract completion deadline. It is one of the longest of its type in the world. Total length: 174 m (571 ft.) Client:Nippon Koei Co. Ltd. Scope of Work:Buckland & Taylor Ltd. reviewed and signed the final design drawings, the tender package and the cost estimate, and was the Bridge Engineer for the Pinatubo Hazard Urgent Mitigation Project, a massive reconstruction effort that followed the 1991 eruption of Mt.
