Description:

Six lane deck truss bridge with a through truss main span and concrete approaches.

Total length: 836 m (2743 ft.)
Main span: 90 m (294 ft.)

City of Vancouver

Scope of Work:

Buckland & Taylor Ltd. designed the seismic retrofit for the bridge and approaches.

Base isolation bearings were installed to reduce the seismic demand on the brittle pier structures, and the trusses were strengthened with added bracing. Completed in 1992.
