Peter G. Buckland was a member of the Technical Committee that wrote CAN/CSA-S6-88, "Design of Highway Bridges". He chaired the subcommittee (and headed the research team) that developed Supplement No. 1-1990, Existing Bridge Evaluation, to CSA Standard CAN/CSA-S6-88, (also known as Clause 12), which provided a more accurate method of assessing the load carrying capacity of bridges, based on a probablistic approach. Darrel Gagnon was also a member of the team.
