Scope of Work:

This launching technique was developed by Buckland & Taylor Ltd. in 1981 on the Beaver Bridge in Prince George, BC and adapted for this railway bridge. Rocker girders automatically picked up the support of the bridge at panel points only and then released them as the truss slid past.

Completed in 1982.

Awards:

This technique won Buckland & Taylor Ltd. the Canadian Construction Association's 1982 Montgomery Memorial Award for the most innovative construction project of the year in Canada.
