PINE RIVER PIPELINE CROSSING

Description:

When the Pine River meandered to reveal buried gas pipes, various remedies were studied, including a bridge crossing.

On 2005 October 05, Buckland & Taylor Ltd. was given the go-ahead to design a bridge 380 m (1,250 ft.) long that would be designed, tendered, fabricated and constructed by 2006 March 01. Now complete, it carries 30" and 36" natural gas lines, with capacity for an additional 12" oil line.

Scope of Work:

Buckland & Taylor Ltd. was first contracted to conduct a feasibility study for an aerial pipeline crossing south of Chetwynd. Later the work was expanded to cover the conceptual and final design of the crossing as well as preparation of drawings and support during fabrication and construction. The crossing was completed in 2006, two weeks ahead of schedule.
