Description:

The project consists of deck widening and seismic retrofit of 305 m (1000 ft.) steel arch bridge, with steel box girder approach spans, in Niagara Falls.

Scope of Work:

Buckland & Taylor Ltd. completed the seismic assessment and live load evaluation of the whole bridge and has developed:

• the site specific live load model;

• the project specific seismic criteria; and

• the project design criteria document.

Buckland & Taylor Ltd. completed the seismic retrofit design for the main and approach spans of the bridge and the deck replacement and rehabilitation design for the Canadian and US approach spans. Completed in 2006.
