Description:

Roger Pierlet Overhead West 2459W runs north-south in Cloverdale, BC immediately south of the junction of Highway 10 and 176th street.

This Design/Build project will provide a twin structure immediately to the west of the original structure (411.4 m/1350 ft. long concrete girder bridge) to carry two lanes of traffic southbound. The original structure, which currently carries one lane of traffic in each direction, will be converted to carry two lanes northbound. The project is part of a joint Federal-Provincial initiative known as the Border Infrastructure Program, whose goal is to improve the flow of goods and people between the Canada-US border and the lower mainland.

Owner:

Client:

West Shore Constructors Limited

Scope of Work:

Buckland & Taylor Ltd. developed an innovative bridge design comprised of 527 m (974 ft.) sheet pile approaches and a 103 m (338 ft.) long bridge, thus minimizing the length and cost of the bridge structure. Buckland & Taylor Ltd. carried out preliminary and final design of the bridge and approach structures and prepared bid and final design drawings. The project was completed in 2005.
