SAINT JOHN RIVER BRIDGE
Location:Coytown, New Brunswick, Canada Description:The Saint John River Bridge consists of twin 1062 m (3483 ft.) long bridges making it the longest bridge on the new Fredericton to Moncton Highway. This composite steel plate girder bridge has a main span of 120 m (394 ft.). It is located on the Saint John River downstream of the old public wharf at Coytown where the river is approximately 630 m (2067 ft.) wide at the crossing. Owner:Maritime Road Development Corp. Client:Maritime Steel & Foundries Ltd. Scope of Work:Buckland & Taylor Ltd. designed the superstructure for this Design/Build project. In addition, Buckland & Taylor Ltd. confirmed the design of the substructure which was designed by Intecsa. Buckland & Taylor Ltd. provided engineering services for the erection of the steel girders. This included stress and deflection checks for the structure at all stages of construction. Completed in 2001.
