WOODROW WILSON BRIDGE
Location:Across the Potomac River, between MD and VA, USA Description:The Woodrow Wilson Bridge on I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) is being replaced in three separate contracts. Construction of the Virginia approach spans includes approximately 670 m (2200 ft.) of dual roadway leading to the central bascule span. Owner:The State of Maryland Client:Virginia Approach Contractors (JV of Granite Construction and Corman Construction)
Scope of Work:Buckland & Taylor Ltd. provided detailed construction engineering services for the concrete segmental V-piers of the Virginia approach spans, including erection sequence analysis and procedures, casting curves, geometry control, erection equipment design, and review and approval of temporary shoring design. The bridge is scheduled for completion in 2008.
